Presents and gifts on different occasions.

I. Problem.

Our life is impossible without presents, gifts. Every country has its customs and traditions of giving and receiving presents. So we must know rules how to give and get presents.

1. There are many holidays in our life. And of course we can not do without presents.The British have their own rules of giving and receiving presents. And what about our classmates? Let' listen to them, please

 Tomorrow is my friend's birthday. Well, I'll go to the shop and buy a present for him. 

     At the shop.

- Can I help you?

- Yes, please. I'd like to buy a present for my friend's birthday.

- Well, what does he like?

- His hobby is sport. 

- What about this T-shirt? The quality is good and the colour is nice.

- Oh, yes. lovely. I'll take it.

 2.   At  friend's home.

- Hello, Zhenya! Happy birthday to you!This T-shirt is for you!

- Thank you, but I hate this colour! It is terrible.

Of course, Zhenya is not polite. When we get presents we must hide our disappointment and pretend that we are happy. 

3. The best presents for our classmates were -

a computer, a bicycle, a cassette- recorder, a costume. 

4. The worst gifts-

socks, a pen, a box of chocolates, a handkerchief.

5. Our classmates would like to get a computer, a motorcycle, a billiard table, a water-proof watch as birthday presents.

Conclusion

We like to receive and to give gifts.

Choosing a gift depends on what occasion it is, how much money we have, how close we are.
